WHAT IS PRAYER TRAINING?

Do you have evidence that the Holy Spirit dwells within you? While it’s evident that we’re living in the era of the Holy Spirit, many modern churches mainly focus on teachings about God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son. If this is truly the era where the Holy Spirit reigns and guides, then it’s crucial to embark on a spiritual journey that embraces His guidance. But do those who confess Jesus Christ as their Savior demonstrate the transformative power of the Holy Spirit in their lives? Often, the presence of the Living Spirit is lacking, with minds filled only with knowledge of the Scriptures. Without understanding the role of the Holy Spirit, church members miss out on learning how to receive His guidance, leaving them vulnerable to being held captive by evil spirits. Without honoring the Holy Spirit or seeking His guidance, the church becomes a breeding ground for demons, and evil spirits roam freely outside, preying on the souls and lives of ignorant and foolish believers. This unfortunate reality reflects the current state of many church members.

The Holy Spirit does not come to us easily. It demands considerable time and rigorous, unwavering commitment in prayer for the Holy Spirit before He finally enters us. Often, individuals mistakenly attribute speaking in tongues during emotionally charged moments after praise gatherings as undeniable proof of the Holy Spirit’s presence within them. However, it’s imperative to recognize that such manifestations can also be influenced by the Spirit of Deception. Moreover, experiences like auditory or visual revelations can be ambiguous indicators of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling. One must sharply examine whether there is internal and external evidence as described in the Bible in one’s life.

Just as the disciples fervently sought and called upon God with all their hearts in the upper room, one must fiercely and patiently pray with an earnest heart until the Holy Spirit comes. You must seek and call upon God for at least a month with all your heart, soul, and might. You must call upon the name of God like Jacob who wrestled with an angel at the Jabbok River, or as Jesus prayed at the Garden of Gethsemane until His sweat fell like drops of blood before He was crucified. At least one hour in the morning, one hour before going to bed, and whenever there is a chance during the day, call upon the name of God and request that the Holy Spirit come and rule over you. Training in such prayer until it becomes a habit in the body is what is meant by the prayer training of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, as spoken of in the Christian Spirituality Academy.
